Pantheism is way better than the literalism of Abrahamic religions. On the other hand, in history, many people converted to Islam and Christianity because pantheism and other religions were less personal; they were prone to ritualistic violence.


In Abrahamic religions, it was easy to relate to an anthropomorphic deity who says, I feel you/I cry for you. These religions were relatively more humane (and even less sexist) in one stage of our history. Of course, these religions were also assisted by colonization.
